Digital Hot Shot Quilt Pattern | Fun & Done Quilting | 111

This quilt is assembled using a quilt-as-you-go technique.  The Fun & Done Quilting method allows you to complete the quilting as you assemble each block.  Sew the blocks together, and you’re done!  Now that’s fun!  Hot Shot has two different fabrics for backing, giving it a fun checkerboard effect on the back. When doing the fabric selection for Fabrics A & B / Backing: 1.  Choose opaque colors, so fabrics underneath them do not show through.  They will need to cover large, odd-shaped seam allowances. 2. Directional Prints may not be suitable. 3. The greater the contrast between the two fabrics the more dynamic the quilt.

While it is not required, I always suggest purchasing Batting Buddy 2-Piece Template Set. It makes cutting and assembly so much easier and with great results. The frame portion is used to cut the backing fabric. The inner square portion is used to cut out the batting. Use the frame again to perfectly center the batting in the middle of the backing. I use a walking foot with a 1/4" foot for block construction and the stitch-in-the-ditch foot for sewing blocks together and for sewing down the sashing. A zipper foot works okay.

This pattern is designed to be printed on 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper. If your standard paper size is different, when printing your pattern be sure to print the template pages actual size, not fit to page. To make the assembly of the blocks as easily as possible, also purchase a Batting Buddy.
